I'm a member of the One 2 One Network. I joined about six months ago mainly out of curiosity. A few weeks ago I received an email offering me the opportunity to review the soundtrack for He's Just Not That Into You movie. I've seen several movie trailers, the talk shows have covered it pretty well, and it was free! Who doesn't like free? The only condition was to listen to the CD and post a review about it! Needless to say, I jumped on the opportunity! It arrived a few days ago with a nice surprise inside, a box of conversation heart candies packaged in the cutest custom box using snapshots from the movie! Now, I'm snacking on my conversation hearts listening the this awesome CD and here is my honest review of the soundtrak.
The music is a fantastic mix of great artists from different genre's and generations including REM, The Cure, Ting Ting, Lily Allen and The Black Crowes. This is music I can totally relate to! It's got an authentic "grown up" feel; full of ecclectic, fun, flirty, soulful lyrics and melodies. I feel like the music was created for me...a GROWN woman...with grown up, complicated problems instead of a 13 year old school girl devasted because I didn't make the cheer team! (Which I know is a terrible thing in it's own teen angst kind of way!) My favorite part of the CD was Scarlett Johansson's "Last Goodbye". The cd contains "enhanced content", a deleted scene where Scarlett Johannson's character sings this beautiful song in what appears to be a piano bar or lounge. Frankly I'm still stunned by this song! I had no idea she had such wonderful talent. I HIGHLY recommend He's Just Not That Into You album!
